About the wood

Heartwood is light to dark brown, alternating dark and light stripes may be present; sapwood is about 15 cm wide, white or pale colored, and distinct from the heartwood; grain usually is deeply interlocked, and quarter-sawn surfaces show a stripe or roe figure; texture is medium.
